Just Call Me Betty Crocker

I have been trying new things again- My mother gave me a recipe for a lemon pie, so I thought I would try it. Low and behold, I was (somewhat) successful. I made a tasty lemon meringue pie. It all started out with the idea of cooking a ham. That idea led to baked potatoes, which turned into potato salad. Then my plans became a bit more complicated, I was going to attempt moms delicious homemade rolls. Well lets just say that the ham, potato salad, and the pie turned out good. The rolls on the other hand- didn't cook all the way, and were a bit gooey. I need more practice. The ham was perfect, the rolls were gooey, the potatoes in the salad were a tad bit crunchy, and the pie was a little runny (not sure where I went wrong).

Although I had a littel trouble with dinner, we had a great time and a great Easter-
What can I try next?

Green thumb

I have been told that it is time to start planting flowers and seeds, so that is what I am going to do. Yesterday, I picked up some Lavender and Alyssum seeds (and a few others) and I am ready to go! Since I do have a developing green thumb, and I already have the containers, all I need is the sun. My patio will soon be a transformed into a mecca of flowers, greenery, a spike plant that I can never remember the name of (Dracena), and outdoor lighting that makes for a really pleasant evening. We are going to have to get the BBQ going, I really miss the one I got for my birthday a few years ago (I hope Stacey appreciates it). I will ask Dan to cook up some of his extra tasty pork chops or chicken that he marinates forever...yum.

Bring on the nice weather!

Here it goes...

Ok~ my sister has had a blog for some time now, so I figured that I might as well join in. The title "Under Construction" speaks volumes for my life these days as well as where I am in the blog world. I seem to be touching up, tweeking, fixing, molding, cleaning up and repairing my life all the time.

As it stands right now, I am attending college to get that long awaited "degree" that has eluded me since my wild days of high school. I almost got a 4 point this quarter, except for that pesky math class. I will be one heck of a math teahcer because I understand how it feels to HATE fractions. I spend much of my free time these days reading class material, digesting math problems, calling Stacey to confirm if I am right or wrong, and eating top ramen (college food, you know...). and napping with Lucy... the best part of my day these days...
